DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a DevOps Engineer the work within our growing software development team, located in Chineham Basingstoke.

Prevalent is a leading security and risk management software vendor. Our cloud-based SaaS application is used by a number of enterprise customers to track and mitigate risks within their supplier base and internal business units. As a DevOps Engineer you will work in a dedicated team within a larger agile software development team focused on short development sprints and regular release cycles.

Responsibilities:
  • You will work within the existing DevOps team and contribute to the continuous improvement, maintenance, and performance of the Prevalent production and pre-production infrastructure across multiple global locations
  • You will work with the Development and QA Automation teams to ensure and maintain reliable and secure CI/CD pipelines
  • You will work with Customer Support team to assist with enabling and troubleshooting platform integrations
  • You will contribute to the adoption and rollout of technologies that improve application monitoring, event and metrics tracking
  • You will contribute to the maintenance of up-to-date documentation regarding the application SDLC, operational processes and security best practices
  • You will contribute to testing, validating and updating the Prevalent Business Continuity and Disaster recovery plans as appropriate
Desired skills:
  • Experience with core AWS services (or equivalent cloud platform)
  • Experience of VA and Application Security tools (Inspector, Snyk)
  • Experience of log monitoring and observability tools (SumoLogic, Scalyr, New Relic)
  • Good working knowledge of Linux environments (Alpine, CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu)
  • Experience of CI/CD tools (Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, CodePipeline)
  • Use of collaboration and versioning tools (Jira, Git)
  • Knowledge of containerisation (Docker)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, Bash, Python)
  • Knowledge of IAC Tools (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform)
