Automation Developer

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Automation and Quality Assurance, the Automation Developer will work as part of a team in the development of automation test cases. We are seeking an excited, flexible, and eager Automation Developer with the drive to get things done.   • Write BDD (Behavior Driven Development)-style automation tests to validate software functionality and identify errors/non-compliance
  • Mentor in the development of the Python/Selenium GUI and API automation framework
  • Transition manual tests to automated tests using our coding standards, while working with colleagues to achieve the "biggest bang" for effort
  • Work with development teams in test result analysis and bug resolution
  • Participate in code reviews and update accordingly to our coding standards
  • Implement innovative ideas that create efficiencies and increase quality
Key Skills
  • Strong analytical and super-human troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of and experience with Python 3
  • Working knowledge of Selenium WebDriver
  • Working knowledge of software quality and testing methodologies
  • Working knowledge of the Linux operating system
  • Well versed in creating automated test cases in test systems and frameworks
  • Experience with IDEs such as PyCharm, VSCode, PHPStorm, IntelliJ IDEA
  • Familiar with Gherkin/Cucumber within Python
  • Familiar with API testing (e.g., REST, SOAP, etc.)
  • Good understanding of web technologies (e.g., HTML, Angular, JavaScript, CSS, PHP)
  • Familiar with operational testing (e.g., Stability/Backup and Recovery/DR)
  • Familiar with the Atlassian toolset (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket, Xray, Confluence, etc.)
  • Familiar with Software Control Management tools (e.g., Git, Gitlab, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent CS experience
Preferred Skills
  • Software development background with a strong QA focus
  • Ability to work independently and even better at working as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Experience with Jenkins, Docker and AWS
  • Experience with security testing (OWASP Top 10)
