Gartner Critical Capabilities for IT Vendor Risk Management
Kevin Hickey brings a strong history of software operations, strategy, capital fundraising, and mergers and acquisitions to his position as Chief Executive Officer. He joined Prevalent from BeyondTrust, where he led a successful turnaround that doubled the company’s revenue. Kevin joined BeyondTrust by way of the company’s acquisition of eEye Digital Security, where he served as CEO and Chairman. Under Kevin’s leadership, eEye experienced significant growth, launched several 'market-first' security solutions and brought the company back to category leadership.
Prior to joining eEye, Kevin was CEO of NetPro Computing, where he helped grow the business before concluding its very successful sale to Quest Software. Kevin has also served as the president and CEO of Homebid.com, where he secured funding and eventually sold the business to industry leader HomeStore.com.
During his seven years as president and COO at Viasoft Inc., Kevin led the company through a successful initial public offering prior to its sale. Kevin started his IT career at IBM, serving in several key marketing and executive business management roles.
Brad Hibbert brings over 25 years of executive experience in the software industry aligning business and technical teams for success. He comes to Prevalent from BeyondTrust, where he provided leadership as COO and CSO for solutions strategy, product management, development, services and support. He joined BeyondTrust via the company’s acquisition of eEye Digital Security, where he helped launch several market firsts, including vulnerability management solutions for cloud, mobile and virtualization technologies.
Prior to eEye, Brad served as Vice President of Strategy and Products at NetPro before its acquisition in 2008 by Quest Software. Over the years Brad has attained many industry certifications to support his management, consulting, and development activities. Brad has his Bachelor of Commerce, Specialization in Management Information Systems and MBA from the University of Ottawa.
Brendan Evers joins Prevalent as Chief Revenue Officer, bringing 16 years of sales, operations and partner management experience to bear. Brendan joins Prevalent from BeyondTrust, where he also served as Chief Revenue Officer. Prior to that, Brendan served as the company’s Senior Vice President of Sales, Americas.
Brendan joined BeyondTrust in 2012 via the acquisition of eEye Digital Security, where he was Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Prior to eEye, Brendan spent eight years at CA (formerly Computer Associates), where he held several senior sales management roles in both channel and direct sales. Brendan holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York, Albany.
Michael Yaffe brings more than 20 years of experience at organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies to his position as Chief Marketing Officer. He has a significant record of achievement in developing strategic and tactical marketing programs for information security companies that deliver revenue. He possesses a strong set of skills in lead generation, public and analyst relations, product marketing, partnership development, positioning and branding.
Prior to Prevalent, Michael served as VP of Marketing at BeyondTrust, helping to lead a successful turnaround, during which time the company doubled its revenue. He spent 10 years prior to that with Core Security, where he established the company's leadership position in the penetration testing space and helped grow revenues more than 10-fold during his tenure.
Earlier in his career, Michael held various strategic, product, and marketing positions with NTRU Cryptosystems, SHYM Technology and CyberTrust. Michael was also a TV reporter and anchor for WVNY-TV (ABC) in Burlington, VT. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Bryant University and a Master’s Degree in Journalism from Boston University.
David Allen is the Chief Technology Officer for Prevalent, and oversees software development, information technology, and cloud operations. He has over 20 years’ experience building and managing teams, enterprise software products, and evaluating systems and processes for efficiency and security.
David’s focus is to align business needs with technical vision, and evolve strategy and process for technological resources. David’s passion is building efficient processes, teams, and workspaces with an emphasis on communication, morale, job satisfaction, and career growth. He strongly believes that empathy, inclusiveness, and a holistic view of team dynamics and processes are just as important as technology and strategy.
Prior to Prevalent, David held technical leadership roles at Quest Software, NetPro, eEye Digital Security, and BeyondTrust where he built high-performance software engineering teams to achieve category leadership and sales growth for enterprise software frameworks and applications. He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Monash University.
Alastair Parr is responsible for ensuring that the demands of the market space are considered and applied innovatively within the Prevalent portfolio. He joined Prevalent from 3GRC, where he served as one of the founders, and was responsible for and instrumental in defining products and services. He comes from a governance, risk and compliance background; developing and driving solutions to the ever-complex risk management space. He brings over 12 years’ experience in product management, consultancy and operations deliverables.
Earlier in his career, he served as the Operations Director for a global managed service provider, InteliSecure, where he was responsible for overseeing effective data protection and risk management programs for clients. Alastair holds a university degree in Politics and International Relations, as well as several information security certifications.
Brenda Ferraro brings several years of first-hand experience addressing the third-party risks associated with corporate vendors, services and data handling companies. In her quest to economize third-party risk, she organized a myriad of stakeholders and devised an approach to manage risk, receiving recognition from regulators and a multitude of Information Security and Analysis Centers (ISACs).
In her role with Prevalent, Brenda works with corporations to build single-solution ecosystems that remove the complexities of Third-Party Risk Management by way of a common, simple and affordable platform, framework and governance methodology.
Prior to joining Prevalent, Brenda led organizations through control standardization, incident response, process improvements, data-based reporting, and governance at companies including Aetna, Coventry, Arrowhead Healthcare Centers, PayPal/eBay, Charles Schwab, and Edwards Air Force Base. She holds certifications in vBSIMM, CTPRP, ITIL and CPM.
James Ray has 20 years of finance and accounting experience, most recently serving as VP of FP&A at BeyondTrust Software Inc., a leading privilege access management software company. As VP of Finance & Accounting for Prevalent, he is responsible for the Company’s financial, accounting, operations, and strategic planning functions. James also has a strong background in mergers and acquisitions, playing a key role in the due diligence process leading to BeyondTrust’s successful sale to Bomgar, and NetPro’s sale to Quest Software.
Prior to his work in the software industry James spent 7 years at Shamrock Foods Company in various finance and accounting roles. James holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business.
Rob Babbush has held a variety of senior administrative positions in rapidly growing technology companies. He holds particular expertise in developing corporate infrastructure to accommodate rapid growth while retaining an entrepreneurial environment. Rob has led the due diligence and integration process for 14 acquisitions ranging in size from $1 million to $65 million in revenue.
Prior to joining Prevalent as the Vice President of Human Resources, Rob served the same position for more than 5 years at BeyondTrust. Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara, and an MBA in International Business Management from San Diego State. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at University of Phoenix and University of Redlands.
Norman brings over 20 years of software engineering and information security technology and management experience to Prevalent and is focused on the strategic direction of Prevalent’s portfolio of products. He brings both a visionary and practical approach to cybersecurity and risk management and leads the product teams to create solutions that meet client needs today, and also provide them with scalability to meet their needs of tomorrow.
Earlier in his career, Norman developed a number of information security and IT risk programs, but decided to focus his attention on the biggest information security risk to organizations; which is the loss of data due to third-party relationships. Norman is a thought leader on third party and external information security risk and regularly speaks at industry events on the importance of understanding and mitigating risk associated with third parties. He is a Certified Third Party Risk Professional (CTPRP) and a contributor to the Shared Assessment’s Risk Assessment Body of Knowledge.
Norman received his university degree in Business Management and has been perusing entrepreneurial actives in technology since before becoming a Seton Hall University Pirate.
Michael is a managing partner at Insight Venture Partners. He focuses on investments in Infrastructure and Application Software companies and has been instrumental in investments in more than 20 companies, many of which have achieved fast growth and realized significant value for shareholders and employees. Notable among these are the IPOs of Click Commerce, Solarwinds Inc. (NYSE: SWI), and Quest Software, and the acquisitions of Aelita Software (acquired by Quest Software), Authorize.net (acquired by Go2Net), Astaro (acquired by Sophos), BeyondTrust (acquired by Veritas Capital), Imceda Software (acquired by Quest Software), eEye Digital Security (acquired by BeyondTrust), Folhamatic (acquired by Sage plc), GFI’s TeamViewer (acquired by Permira), Kabum! (purchased by founders), Metalogix (acquired by Permira), and ScriptLogic (acquired by Quest Software).
Thomas primarily focuses on high-growth SaaS companies within infrastructure, cybersecurity, and education technology. In addition to Prevalent, Thomas has worked with Insight’s investments in Tenable, Cylance, Mirantis, Skytap, LiveAction, Achieve3000, BrightBytes and 1stdibs. Thomas received a Masters and BA in Astrophysics with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania (Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude). Outside of work, Thomas is an avid musician and has toured with his band across the Northeast.
Brian is responsible for Information Security Strategy and Threat Research across PayPal Holdings, Inc. and properties globally.
Brian leads with tireless focus on maintaining customer trust, while ensuring the security of around $2B USD in daily transactions processed on the PayPal platform through globally deployed critical payment and corporate applications, data, and systems. Building on over 25 years of experience in enterprise Information Technology across industries including Software, Government, eCommerce, Fintech and Financial Services he is known as an innovative, strategic thinker.
Brian has a firm grasp of business-aligned application of technology and a track record of successes through lasting relationships with customers and partners, credibility with executives and boards, and respectful leadership of high performing experts in their craft to solve critical and complex business challenges. He is recognized for his ability to build and lead teams with diverse and deep technical expertise and leadership through wonderful successes, along with learnings from some outstanding failures, on portfolios of broadly complex and highly visible initiatives.
